These are awesome for when you only need to use half of an onion or avocado and don’t want the other half to go to waste. I used to use plastic wrap or a ziplock bag, but I like these a lot more! And they look nicer. I love the pliant material on the top that molds itself around the item to keep it extra fresh. They’re easy to use, though sometimes it can take a couple of tries to line it up right to twist it closed. And they’re easy to clean. I actually just throw mine in the dishwasher on the very top rack and they do fine.

After 24 hours, my avocado half still looks yummy! I've used both the avocado-shaped unit and the round unit for refrigerating 1/2 of an avocado. My pictures show the round unit with a small-ish avo and its small pit, after 24 hours of refrigeration. There's no difference in results for either shape--both shapes work well. The round unit is just a little easier to put together and take apart, as it works like a lid on a jar. (The avocado-shaped unit twists and slides, or slides and twists, so it takes just a little practice.) I haven't used them for other veggies or fruit yet, but avos are so difficult to keep fresh that I'm thinking this product will work very well for other food-types that need a membrane to seal, like apples, onions or tomatoes. The unit washes pretty easily; I hand-wash mine. I don't remember if they're dishwasher safe, but I use high-heat sani-wash so I'm not sure how the membrane would react to that after many washes. I would be careful to keep the membrane part away from knives. All-in-all, this is a super product that works well!

As someone who makes a smoothie every day, I could never finish a whole avocado at once. Even if I wrapped the other half in plastic wrap, it would still turn brown by the next day.
